Citizen Charter

Introduction: Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Ministry Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) under local government department, providing technical support to local government institutions, development and maintenance of rural and urban infrastructure including development of small water resources, and contributing to the development of the country's socioeconomic conditions and creating opportunities for employment. Keeping it There was a time when the rural infrastructure in Bangladesh was extremely fragile. Today there has been a revolutionary change in the rural communication of the country through extensive development activities through LGED. Today, the production of the produce produced by the villages and the increase in transportation facilities are ensured by the farmers at the fair prices of the produce. Also, LGED plays an important role in implementing the national programs aimed at preserving the balance of the environment and reducing poverty. With the help of Bangladeshi government own fund and development partner organization LGED Projects and programs are in place Not doing.

Citizen Charter is a written charter of the rights of public service. Through this reflecting the aspiration of the public, opportunities for improvement of existing services are created. Through the Citizen's Charter, it is ensured that service providers provide timely services. The transparency, accountability and administration dynamism of the service provider's authorities increased. Through the Citizen's Charter, mutual anxiety between service providers and providers increases.

 

Major Responsibilities of LGED
• Preparation, implementation and monitoring of plans for development of infrastructure in rural and urban areas;
• maintenance of rural infrastructure;
• Planning, implementation and monitoring of Growthcenter / Hathbazar development;
• Providing technical assistance to union, upazila, zila parishad and municipality;
• Prepare a database of planbooks, mapping and roads and social infrastructure for union, upazila and municipality;
• Planning, implementing and monitoring small water resources;
• Implementation and monitoring of infrastructure development programs of various ministries;
• Training in the relevant development activities of the representatives, beneficiaries, contractors, contract workers;
• Formulation of design and other technical models, manual and specification;

Administration level of LGED:
In order to manage the broad operation of LGED, the administrative networks are spread across the country.
 LGED's chief engineer is acting as the official head of Agargaon, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka-1207. In addition, there are 146 additional officers and employees working in different units including 4 Additional Chief Engineers, 7 Caretaker Engineers, 17 Executive Engineers in the headquarters. The activities of LGED in the headquarters are completed by the following unit:

 LGED's activities are spread over 10 regions across the country, such as Dhaka, Chittagong, Khulna, Rajshahi, Barisal, Sylhet, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Comilla and Faridpur. A caretaker engineer is in charge of each region. There are 8 officers, including the Executive Engineer and Assistant Engineer, under the caretaker engineer in each region - who supervise the monitoring and monitoring of the activities of the LGED, including the entrusted administrative responsibilities of the districts.

Receipt and settlement of service related complaints
If the Citizen Chartered service fails to provide the reason for reasonable reasons within the specified timeframe, then the concerned victim can make a complaint to the service provider in writing. Within 15 (fifteen) days of receiving the complaint, the service provider will make the complaint about the complainant's complaint. If the complainant is not satisfied with the decision of the service provider authority, you can apply for an appeal to the next senior authority, who is controlling the service provider's authority. The appeal authority will settle the complaint within 15 (fifteen) days of receiving the appeal and give written instructions to the service provider.
